Our Family Roots Equals a First-Rate Moving Experience
Irving Transfer & Storage Co. got its start in 1926. Bert L. Bowlsby and his brother Bruce ran the business for more than 58 years. With a running start on treating customers right, Carl Berry and his son Scott Berry took over in 1984, and in the 90s Carl changed the company’s name to ITS Global Relocation Services. This change reflected our partnership with Global Van Lines, which also expanded our capacity to handle longer and more complex relocations.
Evolution of the Family Business and The Van Line
ITS Global embraced its new owners, husband and wife Gene Doeneka Chris Doeneka, in 1998. In 2005, we became proud agents for Bekins Van Lines, who later merged with Wheaton Worldwide Moving in 2012.
The family business grew in 2013 when Gene’s and Chris’s daughter Kit joined the team full-time after several years working summers as a packer and administrative assistant – learning the parts of the family business first-hand.
The ITS Global Family Today
In 2021, after 9 years of combined experience in numerous positions in the company, Kit Doeneka became co-owner of ITS Global. Gene and Chris retired in January 2024, and they continue to support Kit on a business consulting basis.
